Why Should You Exercise Everyday And What Are The Benefits?

Research has proven that regular exercise has many overall health benefits. In addition to significantly increasing life expectancy, regular exercise can also help to prevent certain health conditions and diseases. Performing regular exercise has also been proven to aid in the treatment of health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. There are both short and long term benefits to exercise.

The short term benefits include:
  • Increased energy levels.
  • Better sleep.
  • Positive self image and self confidence.
  • Increase in calories burned.
Some of the long term benefits were listed at the beginning, such as:
  • Increased life expectancy.
  • Decreased risk of developing high blood pressure.
  • Decreased risk of developing diabetes.
  • Treatment of back pain.
  • Maintaining a healthy weight range.
You should always consult with your physician before beginning any fitness or diet routine to find the one that is best suited for you. You should also check into all of the exercise options out there. Exercise does not always have to be done in the gym, or in front of the TV. It is nice to have someone or something there to guide you, but you can turn several normal activities into exercise.

Simple activities like a stroll in the park, or climbing the stairs in your home can easily be incorporated into your fitness routine. Playing with your children and house work can also be turned into elements of your specific fitness routine.

You should select your routine based on the advice of your doctor. If you are just beginning a fitness routine, make sure you start slowly and pace yourself. It is wonderful to exercise, but not wonderful to get hurt due to improper technique. More seasoned fitness enthusiasts should try changing their routine periodically so they remain excited about exercise. Push yourself to try new things.
